This Bethlehem home had good bones - solid brick, clean siding, nice windows. But the front landscaping was cluttered and overgrown, and it was pulling focus away from all of that. The goal was simple: open things up, let the brick do its thing, and give the front of the house a clean, intentional look.
We redesigned the bed layout to follow the natural lines of the home and brought in fresh plantings - a mix of compact shrubs along the foundation and hostas out front to add some texture without overwhelming the space. Every plant was placed with purpose. Nothing random, nothing crammed in just to fill space.
The black dyed mulch was a deliberate choice. Against that warm brown brick, it creates a sharp contrast that makes the whole front of the house pop. It also keeps the bed looking neat and defined, which matters a lot for curb appeal. Clean mulch beds just read as well-maintained, and that impression sticks.
This is the kind of work we do a lot of around the Lehigh Valley - taking a yard that's been neglected or just grown out of control and giving it a fresh layout that actually makes sense for the home. Planting and garden design isn't just about picking plants. It's about knowing what works together, what holds up in our climate, and what's going to look good year after year.
Good landscape design doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes a clean bed edge, the right shrubs, and fresh mulch is all it takes to completely change how a home looks from the street.
